3rd international CSR Conference on Wealth of Nations - The role of Business
Organised by Global Rainbow Foundation
This conference which was presented by Dr Iab Brooks, Barbara Mellish and Professor Olinga Ta’eed from Centre For Citizenship Enterprise and Governance, highlighted a future vision of CSR in Mauritius. Measuring the social impact outcomes (Measurement of Financial and Intangible Value) is to be preferred than just focusing on tracking CSR. The CSR has to move forward to a more sustainable CSR model used internationally. Such move will lead towards a citizenship framework, engaging public, private and civil sector on societal issues using Fast Data.
Theme: Driving CSR through SDGs
The conference was designed to explore best practices, understand and deal with the impacts of CSR, sustainability reporting, stakeholder engagement, sustainability of projects, ethics and governance in all their various dimensions.
These plenary sessions facilitated the elaboration of various frameworks and best practices with the goal of developing evolutionary CSR practices.
Presentations, workshops and dialogue sessions highlighted state of the art topics and how issues are being addressed around the world and Mauritius and Rodrigues. In addition, the conference discussed tools and techniques and approach essential for the integration of socially responsible management in business operations, in an effort to achieve sustainability at all levels of business management.
